Camp Arevelk in Catskill Mountains
A Season for Growing
One of the important projects that AMAA/AMAC has supported for many years has been the worldwide summer camp programs. These programs are designed to share the love of Jesus with youth in practical ways by learning, enhancing their talents, socializing, meeting new friends, and being nourished in a Christian atmosphere of loving care.
The children look forward, with great anticipation, to the week they spend at the camps during their summer breaks from school. Numerous lives are changed, and many track their spiritual roots to the camps they attended.
The Summer Camp Program in Armenia started in 1989. During the summer of 1991, volunteers from Canada and other countries went to Armenia to organize day camps in different locations in cooperation with local Evangelical churches.
Day Camps in Armenia and Artsakh (Karabagh)
AMAA Armenia and the Evangelical Church of Armenia continue organizing day camp activities throughout Armenia and Karabagh. These programs are held in 35 towns and villages for over 3,000 children and teenagers. Over 250 volunteers serve at day camps in Artsakh and Armenia. We are so grateful for the counselors who serve in the camps. Through their dedicated work they are able to convey the Gospel and love of God to the campers, which can result in life changing experiences. We also thank God for the AMAA/AMAC friends and supporters who continue to contribute to our camps through their donations, services, and prayers.
