The Armenian Missionary Association of Canada (AMAC) is thrilled to share two significant updates about Pastor Zohrab Sarkissian of the Armenian Evangelical Church of Toronto.

Welcoming The New Intern-Pastor

On September 1, 2024, the Armenian Evangelical Church of Toronto held a heartfelt dedication service to welcome its new intern-pastor, Zohrab Sarkissian. As part of his pastoral internship with the Armenian Evangelical Union of North America (AEUNA), Pastor Sarkissian will serve the church community for one year, fulfilling all pastoral duties. The church was filled with community members, family, and the church’s Board of Directors and Deacons, all gathered to support and celebrate this new chapter.

Celebrating Academic Excellence

On September 10, 2024, Pastor Sarkissian, graduate candidate 2025 in the MDiv program at Tyndale University, during the university’s annual commencement ceremony, was honored with the prestigious Bernardo Award in Leadership, recognizing his outstanding academic proficiency and exceptional leadership skills.

This is not his first accolade; in 2022, he received the Paul and Eleanor Henderson Leadership Award for his demonstrated leadership ability, impact potential, and entrepreneurial capabilities. Additionally, in 2021, he was awarded the Dr. Stewart Boehmer Scholarship, given to a Pastoral Ministry Major student who shows significant potential for church leadership.

The AMAC Board, along with President Raffi Shnorhokian, extends heartfelt congratulations to Pastor Sarkissian. We pray that with his God-given leadership skills, he will continue to faithfully serve the Armenian Evangelical Church of Toronto and the wider community, all for the glory of God.
