Today, the AMAA delegation, represented in person by Executive Director/CEO Zaven Khanjian, visited AMAA and AMAC Yeprem and Zabel Basmadjian Kindergarten and “Shogh” Day Center in the town of Askeran.
The children met the delegation with traditional salt and bread. During the tour, the delegation got acquainted with the children’s daily schedule.
In the kindergarten, the middle group’s sponsor-children had an open lesson, entitled “The Festival of Bread.”
The younger children presented the stages of development of bread, by playing in practice; starting even from grain, they showed the glorious journey of bread. Kneading dough, balling it, rolling it, they finally baked it into lavash bread, in the end presenting Artsakh’s iconic symbol, the famous and delicious zhingyalov hatz.
The meeting took place with an open and warm atmosphere; the children’s liveliness gave the attendees great satisfaction.
