The recent Artsakh war left behind a carnage of thousands of suffering orphans, widows, and handicapped soldiers, in addition to territorial loss and destroyed homes and infrastructure.
The innocent and helpless victims of this war are children who cannot understand why their fathers are absent or why their homes are destroyed. Their young minds cannot fathom why they cannot return to their homes, attend school, or play with their neighborhood children. Their internalized pain — which they are often unable to express — grows with them, causing life-long suffering.
