The Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) considers preventive healthcare to be of utmost importance and accordingly is stepping up its efforts in this direction.
Dr. Emil Margaryan, dentist at the Berigian Dental Clinic at AMAA’s Aynilian Clinic in Yerevan was recently hosted at the AMAA Ijevan office. His purpose was to motivate and train AMAA Ijevan beneficiaries in oral and dental care.
Welcoming those present, AMAA Ijevan Office Manager, Rev. Albert Paytyan introduced the speaker of the day.
120 sponsored children and their parents took part in the lesson-discussion entitled “Oral and Dental Care.” After imparting useful knowledge, the doctor answered the parents’ questions.
20 children who had problems with teeth and mouth underwent a dental examination. At the end of the meeting, the children received toothbrushes and toothpastes which were sent by Canadian-Armenian philanthropists through the Armenian Missionary Association of Canada (AMAC).
AMAA Ijevan Social Workers and other professionals will follow-up with the children to ensure that they take good care of their teeth. Those in need of treatment will receive charge-free dental care.
Everyone was very pleased and grateful to the organizers of the event.
